It seems like October will be the best month for ANN in a long time. There's been more traffic than during summer, perhaps also because I tried (also with Teemu's help) to update more often. Most of you may also have noticed the Metabox banner on the top of this page.
On the downside, I recently had quite a bit of trouble with the Notify list. First, I accidentally overwrote it with an earlier version, so some of you who unsubscribed were magically subscribed again. My apologies. Secondly, there's been quite a lot of bounced mails independently of that, so if you are subscribed but didn't get at least two or three mails this week, chances are high that your email address has been removed because notify's bounced back as undeliverable.

David Connolly writes: Maintaining a commercial business in the Amiga market has become increasingly difficult. I don't just mean in terms of the poor sales, but in terms of maintaining professional communication and business relationships. I don't feel I am able to offer a truly professional service for the Amiga as I have failed on both these counts. I have made inproper comments on mailing lists and failed to attract developers to sign for CS&E. As I have made the announcement before that CS&E would leave the classic Amiga but come back for the next generation, it is with regret that I have to say this time the company is leaving the Amiga to concentrate on the PC development. Amiga Survivor will be continuing as a non-profit making magazine through the editorial staff but CS&E will continue to lend a hand in taking orders. I wish the Amiga all the best and will be keeping a very close eye on all the developments as an eager customer.

I think it's interesting to actually see a trend of new Amiga websites appearing again, after quite a few established ones closed their doors this year, or even before. AmigaSDK uses an unusual color scheme, but provides screenshots, links to reviews, software downloads, workshops... AmiOne.com is largely under construcion, but has a more refreshing layout. There's also a French support site under construction. As you can see, all of these pages seem to aim at the future, being AmigaOne- and/or AmigaSDK-only. What do you think? Is SDK/One the way to go for current and future websites?

Quite a lot of changes today. I changed the top (logo, adverts) and removed the bottom banner of the main page. The comments script has also been changed in the same way, and I finally got around to updating the list view of a comment to the new style.

I sent of an application form for DSL access on Thursday, and am now awaiting a confirmation. If it happens, I'll spend more money for being online, but should also have a much better accessibility and speed. For you, that means there will hopefully be more updates.
