According to its author, Jens Langner,
AmIDE is a good looking graphical user interface for compilers and also a very flexible project management. Its features include: graphical message browser for error/warning messages, self-configurable edit/viewtool, filetype handling/configuration, highly configurable MUI-Interface, integrated touch/make mechanisms (no makefiles needed), using standard debugging tools

Most of the scripts behind ANN need updating or a complete rewrite. But apart from that, what do you think is missing on here? What would make you visit more often, participate more? Which features would make you stay longer, read more pages...? Right now, ANN is getting visits from between 2000 and 2500 unique IP addresses per day, but will only generate about 6000 pageviews per day, this month. That means an average visitor sees less than 3 pages per day, which is not much considering the wealth of comments, the polls, etc. What do you think?

I hope to be able to work on ANN throughout the week and over the weekend. The first change will be to turn off unmoderated posting by default, and revert to a system similar to the thresholds I used in 1999. The comments script needs a long-overdue revision and a few aspects of the layout also need a change. I've been reconsidering the "contribute/ANN ad-free" idea I had a few months ago. How many of you would be prepared to pay $25 per year and in return receive a special login id so you wouldn't see any advertisement banners anymore? Please voice your opinions in the comments section.

I´m back from my holidays, but I still have a lot of things to sort out both on- and offline. Since many of you did a remarkably good job of keeping ANN updated, for which I have to thank you, I´d appreciate if you could keep on adding anything interesting via the submit forms until I can get back to regular updates. Thanks.

Recently, AROS announced that they managed to port DOpus in "a couple of hours". Apparently, they also talked to Amiga, but every lawyer asked until now strongly suggested to proceed with extreme care. Finally, there may be a possibility for people to work on AROS, in Switzerland, fulltime and get paid at least 45.000€ (46875$) per year. Details are on aros.org.

Bill McEwen posted a clarification to the AAC mailing list regarding the situation of Amiga's websites and domains. Since the email subject explicitly said "get this information out to the masses please", I think I'm safe posting it here. :) Read Bill's full message below.
