Via amiga.org and Keep It Retro:
"Amidemos is a collection of Amiga demos and intros, captured from an Amiga and uploaded to the web as DivX encoded videos."
[ Obviously, this is only useful for people with fast machines and lots of bandwidth, but the server is very fast and after a minute or two (at 105K/sec for me) you can watch and listen to the classis AmigaDOS demo, as well as many other scene classics, without ever bothering about emulators. :) - CK ]

[Motd] Server move, IBrowse 2.2 problems? | ANN.lu |
Posted on 26-Apr-2001 18:55 GMT by Christian Kemp | 16 comments View flat View list |
ANN was moved to a new server yesterday (twice, actually), and one or two comments were lost in the process. But what seems worse is that for quite some time I've been getting hundreds of entries in my error.log because apparently users with IBrowse 2.2 are trying to access a file called "undefined", which obviously doesn't exist. I'd appreciate if somebody with IBrowse 2.2 could give me specific feedback on what might not be working on ANN for them.

[News] Blittersoft acquires Microcode Solutions ifusion | ANN.lu |
Posted on 23-Apr-2001 10:23 GMT by Christophe Decanini | 9 comments View flat View list |
From the fusion mailing list:
Paul Lesurf, Blittersoft:
Blittersoft will be sending an update to all registered users of iFusion in the next day or two. "We inadvertantly placed a version of iFusion on the release CD that was not the latest one supplied by Microcode Solutions. Since discovering this, we have received an even newer version, which is the one that will be sent. This also includes an updater program. Please ensure you register your purchase as detailed on the release CD, or visit Blittersoft website."

[News] VillageTronic lays off 80% of Amiga workers | ANN.lu |
Posted on 20-Apr-2001 11:08 GMT by Christophe Decanini | 11 comments View flat View list |
From VGR website:
Mr. Randy West posted some information on VillageTronic GmbH and the Voodoo add on module for the Picasso IV on comp.sys.amiga.hardware:
"Talk to a friend that lives by Villagetronic. It's offical Villagetronic Amiga is more more 80% of the Amiga workers have been laided off. There won't be a Paraglider unless they sell the prototype board which is the only one that was made."
That was a follow up to this post "The last announcement I got from Blittersoft was last summer (or last fall?) when they confirmed that the project was still going on. I got an email from them a month or so ago where saying that they removed the advertisement from their site. Since 3dfx is kind of dead, are there any chance of seeing this product come to life?"

The site has been redesigned. The status has been improved with bar graphs. There are links to the AutoDocs and Disk Images.

There has been another layout change, and the show/hide feature announced just two days ago fell victim to visitor feedback saying a three column-layout was too wide. The display options are now in the status bar again. In unrelated news, I'll be on holiday from Tuesday to Sunday, but might be able to check in from time to time. Meanwhile, Christophe has access to both the news posting and article deletion scripts.
