Tony Pascoal noticed on amiga-news.de
that Be News has a poll that also features the Amiga. The question is The next
Operating System I would like to try out soon will be, and one of the possible answers is ElateOS/Amiga.
As of right now, 23.90% out of 1433 voters thought the Amiga was their number one choice. When I checked 200 voters earlier, we were still at place #4.

BeNews poll : Comment 3 of 24 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Watts Martin on 01-May-2000 22:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 2 (Gary Goldberg): Well, there's a lot of Amiga fans in the Be community. (Probably a lot of ex-Amiga fans, too, but I'm sure you've noticed there's a lot of skepticism about Amiga Inc. out there in the world.) I never owned an Amiga, but I got involved in BeOS/x86 in no small part because of what seemed to be similarities to Amiga engineering philosophy at the company.
Of course, at the time I didn't know there were some similarities to Commodore marketing strategies at Be, too (although at Be the variant is "We're in danger of getting a userbase! Quick, focus shift!"), but that's a rant for another time and place.... |
