Ben Hermans/Hyperion writes:
Hyperion's Heretic 2 port was approved for distribution after rigorous testing by Activision and Ravensoft.
The Amiga version running on a Cyberstorm PPC 200mhz and Cybervision PPC outperforms the Windows version
running on the same Permedia 2 with Pentium II 400 mhz.

Heretic 2 approved for distribution : Comment 4 of 24 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Thomas Frieden on 23-May-2000 22:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 3 (sutro): Hi,
Here's how this test was performed: According to Ravensoft's web page,
they played through level one. At the start of the level, they used the
cheat to bring up all weapons, and fired each weapon/spell. Then, they
swam through the harbour water, climbed out, and played through the first
level.
We did the same test, and our result was about 18 fps, while the PC version
got 16 fps. It's a bit faster, and it shows that for the Pentium, the
Permedia 2 was the bottleneck. As my PPC Amiga (a 200 MHz 604e) outperforms
the PC version (K6/2 400 MHz) of Shogo (both using software rendering),
by about 1 - 2 fps (depending on scene complexity), the Permedia 2 seems
to slow down the Amiga version as well.
