NEW PCI busboard for A1200! : Comment 9 of 16 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Zacier on 13-Jun-2000 22:00 GMT | Ok , I`ve called elbox today (I live in Poland , and Elbox is a polish company - for those of you who didin`t know tkat ;)) . They sai , that info about the price will be given next week . The guy who I spoke to (from the sales department) said that they WON`T be producing their own PCI cards , only selling existing pc hardware WITH their drivers . But these drivers will be available for free . Currently there are cgx driver for S3 cards , and warp3d drivers for voodo3 and voodo5 are being developed . Elbox will release all materials needed for developing drivers for other cards , they will also be developing their own drivers (and selling the hardware) . They will initially develop drivers for some gfx cards , sound cards , modems , and LAN cards , and then sell this hardware with their drivers . But as I said before these drivers WILL be freely available , so that everyone could buy these cards by themselves (for example second-hand , for 1/3 price) . So Elbox Rulez ! |
