In reply to Comment 34 (Chris Roccati):
: WoW 49 FPS at 512x384!! With around 1000 euro worth of hardware!! It's
: exactly what I'd call eye popping; and mind, this is QUAKE, the previous
: generation of the engine...
Let's keep things in context shall we... for the systems that Amiga users have, those frame rates are truely smooth. I'm suprised you didn't respond to my other post. If you really want to complain about all this, you can go join the rest of the PC loozers on comp.sys.amiga.advocacy I'm sure that they would welcome you with open arms considering how skeptical you are about things. Besides, if you can tell me of another Amiga configuration that can do better than 49FPS at 512x384 I'm all ears. Also, considering that you know that I am talking about the Quake1 engine, why is that you have a preconcieved notion that the Quake2 engine used in Heretic2, Shogo, SiN, or SoF isn't more advanced with Hyperions MiniGL? I mean, 800x600 at around 20FPS for Heretic2 only due to the limitation of the fill rate of the Permedia2 chip... what's it going to be like with the Voodoo chips? The Voodoo1 has a fill rate about three times that. How bout we get all of the Amiga programmers together and make a game specifically for your configuration. Hmm, I wonder what type of game that would be.
: We are talking of the ORIGINAL, COMMERCIAL, 68K ONLY, got under the promise
: that a powerPC version would be available soon...
Read S-Files #2 when you get a chance. In case you don't know the web site, that's http://www.clickboom.com. Also remember that if it wasn't for the pirated PPC version of Quake, we would have had it a long time ago. The same thing applies for the PPC version of SOTM (that's Shadow of the Third Moon in case you didn't know). But that's a piracy thing that I won't get into right now.
: Ok, Read again the first part of your post; You'll laugh until you drop...
I'm suprised that you actually got my point at all. The whole idea of your original post was funny to say the least, I just had to back it up with something worse.
Jump...
