Even though I ought to have updated my resume/CV and applied for a new job, this evening I quickly hacked together a ratings system for any news article posted on ANN. You can vote, and therefore voice your opinion, on every article; the possible votes being the numbers 1 to 5, 1 being the worst and 5 the best. In the future, this system might be expanded to reduce the size of unimportant and off-topic postings, or perhaps even to hide them altogether, and to emphasize on the more important and relevants news items.

Any comments, ideas or suggestions?

no, I think its a good idea but Its a bit unclear: where exactly do we vote for?
the actual news itself? (netscape update - rating: 1, amiga buying out microsoft - rating: 5)
the quality of the written article? (written at 5 AM - rating: 1)
(good news, bad news? (hyperion drops sin - rating: 1)
or even everyting put together? (which will get confusing :)
but I like it, another step ahead!
