A korean company Aromasoft is working on a new Java-dedicated OS for embedded devices, called funnily enough TeaPot. Some of its features sound rather familiar indeed.

Posted by Gil Knutson on 21-Aug-2000 22:00 GMT | No one should be at all surprised. I predict that within +/-6 months of
when the Amiga version is "available" for real, there will be no less
than 6, and possibly as many as 20, other "basic" Java OS's dedicated
to the phone/carry-around crowd. It happened to some degree with CD
standards, way back when surround-sound had 4 serious backers and this
should be no surprise to anyone.
I just hope McEwen and crew can convince the public that THEIR way is
the best... remember, the BEST will probably NOT win!!! (think of the
VHS vs BATA fiasco...)
Time will tell who will win, but I think MicroSoft has more money to
throw around than all the others together, and that may be the telling
tale in the end... I just hope I am wrong!!! : ((
