MeterNet is another set-top-box manufacturer that will use the Amiga DE in their products. They plan to ship the first units of their new Amiga-powered SimpleBox devices in December this year with a forecasted price of $399. The initial run will produce 10000 units of the device. Well it is really interesting to see how hardware is now being built around the OS, rather than the OS build built around the Hardware.
Anyhow, this sounds cheap and looks to be interesting, if these little hand held units, can push out a little multi-media along with the internet, then I would certainly purchase one. I would be happy with an Amiga I could fit in my pocket any day! I would feel like James Bond I would! :O)
Oh, and just to toss something in here, some time when newdoom.com is up, check out GL Doom Legacy, and see what you think, Imagine if coders would start porting stuff like that to the new OS, or even classic OS, istead of the standard Doom, ok and imagine it on a pocket sized Amiga too! :O)
