Here's amiga-news.de's interview with Frank Mariak, the author of CyberGFX, which touches the controversy with the Mediator Voodoo3 drivers. Amigart have an english translation again.

Yes...
I would think that someone/anyone with enough time and the appropriate documentation could whip these up with enough time at their disposal. SAome sort of open standard would sem to be the go definately... They would certainly sell many more mediators if you could get drivers for a wider range of things. Surely there are a lot of Ami users that do want to run SBLive! cards, Video capture boards, modems, 100Mbs NIcs etc. Without the mediator specs and doc this would seem to be pretty much impossible.
So open it up I say and then once people can actually use the above stuff we'll all find out if the mediator is a good solution or not.
