Amiga have just released this press release about the AmigaOne hardware spec. Eyetech will build the first actual boxes, which are Classic Amiga/AmigaOne hybrids (both A1200 and A4000-based models will be available) and will be based on PPC. They are scheduled for a Q1 2001 release. First stand-alone AmigaOnes should ship in Q3 2001. Also, the development of the Classic AmigaOS will continue with v3.9 coming out before Christmas.

Amiga announces the AmigaOne : Comment 27 of 119 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 20-Oct-2000 22:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 4 (fleecy): Hi Fleecy,
This all sound good, but what about my beloved A3000T's?
There are many A3000T's in use, and I know probably three
dozen users in my area alone that have one or more A3000T's.
It seems like the A3000T, which most people will agree was probably
the best Amiga ever made. It is a highly sought model and there
are thousands and thousands of them in use.
It seems though that the "Best Amiga Ever Made", which again most
people would agree gets left out in the cold yet once again. It's
another round of being left out of the party! Unless the 4000 version
might work in it, which is probably doubtful. There are many A3000T's
in use, and again at least three dozen in my area alone. :/ |
