There's a new Executive Update up at Amiga with more news about AmigaOS 3.9 (including a screenshot (153k)) an announcement that a company named bplan GmbH will be creating a new AmigaONE PPC based desktop computer, an AmigaSDK update notice and more informations about investment opportunities.

Not bad (the screenshot), but it could use a little cooler gadgets & icons.
Looked at Mac OS X beta the other day. It's a very cool looking desktop (it
may even be pretty useful, though it's a little early to tell). Just about
anything looks cooler than the Win 2K GUI (but that's not aiming high enough
IMO).
CD player interface reminds me a little of QT 4, though. It never hurts to
polish things up a bit, but lets make the UI consistent guys. I have no pro-
blem with the brushed metal look, but why not add it to the window borders
as well. They come off kind of plain when compared to the CD player (reminds
me of the blandness of Windoze UI when compared to all MP3 player skins that
one could load).
It would be cool to have the capability to load your own look (see Kaliedoscope
on Mac OS - changes the appearence of the whole desktop interface, not just the
look of certain apps). |
