Chris Moore writes:
Eyetech group have released an
article on their web site explaning
the new AmigaOne A1200 and A4000 PPC systems.
The system can actually run without the A1200/A4000 motherboard. The article explains all about the new systems and has a brief
history of the Eyetech Group. The A1200/A4000 motherboards are
an expansion of the AmigaOne, rather than the other way round
and will be able to run MorphOS or OS3.9 as well as AmigaDE
natively.

Eyetech give AmigaOne specification : Comment 13 of 27 | ANN.lu |
Posted by J on 24-Oct-2000 22:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 12 (Frederik): "They are the first two of many," McEwan said in an interview today. The plug-in
cards to upgrade current Amiga systems will cost about $500, including a CPU,
McEwan said. A stand-alone machine will cost about $800. "
So Bill reckons that they should cost, what 300UKP including CPU? Which is not bad as it includes ethernet, USB PCI card etc. a 10gb hard-drive is fairly cheap and most people already have CD-ROMs, same for modems. It's the Video & Audio cards that will be most expensive to add, and possibly Firewire though I can't understand why you'd NEED firewire. I guess that's just to have 'AmigaOne' status
So 550UKP ish for what is essentially a new computer? |
