AmigaOS 3.9 specs : Comment 26 of 27ANN.lu

Well, it looks promising except for that awful gui that we have been stuck with for eight years. My own OS3.0 looks OK now what with my ViRGE setup and all, but I'd like to see more in the way of bug fixes and stability. Considering the way that I have hacked my hardware and software it is a miracle that my A1200 is as stable as it is now. However, I'd love to see a decent task manager so that I don't have to either reboot or leave a window on screen when a Guru occurs.
I am sure that we were promised new ROMS if os3.5 took off. Well, here is 3.9 and I still have heard nothing about any ROM upgrades. Just installing flashy new software on top of the seven year old ROM means we are stuck with the old GUI, and any enhancements are software rather than hardware driven.
AWEB??? Not sure about this. Have only used a fairly old version admittedely, but I find it lacking when compared to IBrowse. Still I found it more stable than Voyager which does not like my machine at all.....
Still, any Web browser and a TCP/IP stack is better then nothing.
