Here's the homepage of a new open source MPEG4-based video codec, called 3ivX. It's to be launched on December 15th. Amongst other things, Amiga support is promised.

I've never played video on a computer so I'm ignorant of most of the issues here, but isn't D.I.V.X. the play per view video disk standard which was utterly shunned by the public - at least here in the U.S.A.?
