CNET Electronics has a short review of the Zaurus M1-E1 with a description of it's abilities and a mention that it is comming to the US with a new Linux based OS, no mention of Amiga.

Sharp Zaurus Review at CNET : Comment 6 of 7 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Ralph on 05-Apr-2001 22:00 GMT | Today i asked a colleague about the Zaurus. Machines branded this name are available
since about 1994 and are very famous here in Japan. According to him Zaurus is as popular
as Palm is Europe (and maybe America) - Sharp is a kind of a market leader here!
The device itself is really neat - it feels like a Palm V and seems to be of high quality.
There are massive advert campaigns running on television and in department stores.
I would have liked to toy around a little bit more with that nice thingy, but as all text and
menus are in japanese it is a hard thing to to and not much fun.
I could imagine buying one and have AmigaDE running on it :) The price btw. was at 49.800 Yen
(plus 5% tax), which is a discount price according to my colleague - perhaps to push sales of
the newly released device... |
