Amigo follows up on serious allegations about H&P and says: "I also just asked Unisys as it says here, and am waiting for a reply. If true, H&P could probably be forced to close."
[ If H&P indeed didn't pay royalties for Unisys' GIF algorithm, they might not be forced to close per se, but if this is indeed true, and Unisys decides to sue, they might have to pay some serious fines. Also note that while this is not in unmoderated, it's highly speculative, unconfirmed and generally should be taken with the usual grain of salt - CK ]

Serious allegations about H&P : Comment 116 of 164 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Ben Hermans/Hyperion on 10-Nov-2001 18:22 GMT | In reply to Comment 113 (David Scheibler): >So if you were one time an employee for a company that break the law
>then you are not allowed to work for another company for lifetime?
Where did I say that?
Besides, correct me if I'm wrong but some partners of Phase 5 are now also partners of bPlan, correct?
And even if they are not and they were just "management" employees, don't you think the decision taken by the management of Phase 5 to deceive the public by pretending the pre-order money would be placed in an escrow account, would be sufficient to satisfy your "moral" standard which you apply to H&P?
>And if there is a company in which two people, who already worked
>together before, work now together again than it's already the
>successor of the former company? And I doubt that Mr Knaebel was the
>founder of phase5...
>Strange world you are living in.
Not really. I'm more than happy to give companies the benefit of the doubt until their wrong doing is proved in court.
In fact, I intend to do just that.
YOU are the one who is cancelling orders because of some unclear legal situation surrounding H&P with respect to AmiTCP.
That's pure hyprocrisy because you happily put your money in the hands of people who deceived the public and got away with it but suddenly get all emotional when it comes to this whole AmiTCP situation which is a lot less clear-cut. |
