Amigo follows up on serious allegations about H&P and says: "I also just asked Unisys as it says here, and am waiting for a reply. If true, H&P could probably be forced to close."
[ If H&P indeed didn't pay royalties for Unisys' GIF algorithm, they might not be forced to close per se, but if this is indeed true, and Unisys decides to sue, they might have to pay some serious fines. Also note that while this is not in unmoderated, it's highly speculative, unconfirmed and generally should be taken with the usual grain of salt - CK ]

Serious allegations about H&P : Comment 135 of 164 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Ben Hermans/Hyperion on 11-Nov-2001 11:52 GMT | In reply to Comment 129 (David Scheibler): @David Scheibler:
>Of course it's a personal matter. It's *my* decision anyone else can
>make his own decision.
I don't object to that. I object to the reasoning behind the decision.
>And as I said Gravenreuth vs. you would be fun.
I doubt I am nearly as crazy as this guy. Feel free to come and chat to me at the show in Cologne. This is getting a bit too time consuming to continue.
>Then you maybe missed that phase5 was a GbR and therefore each partner
>can be sued seperately. It's up to everyone to sue the former partners
>of phase5. Why hasn't this be done yet?
Come on David. You are right ofcourse but why hasn't anybody done that?
Because it is too expensive to do so for 200 DM.
This is exactly the same argument the NSDi guys use why they have not sued H&P and Chris Wiles. Too expensive. (Although they would be sueing for a lot more I would imagine).
But in one case you give the benefit of the doubt and in another you decide NOT to give the benefit of the doubt.
I am objecting to that double standard, nothing more. |
