I am currently toying with the idea of designing a Zorro card for the Amiga. What would the interest be in a card with the following:
10/100 mbit Ethernet, 2 X High speed serial ports, 1 X ECP/EPP parallel port & IrDa?
There is some preliminary information on my website
I am also looking at the possibility of adding a Zorro to ISA bridge and making the card work in Zorro 2 and Zorro 3 Amigas.
Are there any other features you would like?
If you are interested, please email me. If there is enough interest I will look at making some prototypes and if feasible, a short production run.

People who left the Amiga were in need of a more capable machine. Period.
Amiga Fan-atism is futile.
I have my A4000/060 here and it is ethernetted to my Athlon. I got my first IBM compatible *this* year, so I would belong to the category of true Amiga-believers. But let me ask you this:
Is it possible to develop modern web-applications without Windows or Linux ? No !
Is it possible to do serious scientific research on the Amiga ? No !
Is it possible to design new PCBs on the Amiga in an easy way ? No !
Is it possible to play DVD on an Amiga ? No ! (Okay, now that we have PCI it might be with hardware decoders)
Is it possible to play kick-ass games on the Amiga ? No !
You remind me on the people who stood in their country when it was overruled by a dictatory government. They simply felt themselfes too good to suffer for decades and present their children a life in fear and supression. Now, that the dictatorship has gone they come back. Not all are good people (tm) But some are. They bring new fresh air into the country, create some cultural renewal hence they get accused for being "cowards who left the country and now want to super pose their opinion"
I say: People who were too lame to leave the stinking trash behind them and were too comfy or simply scared to cross a well guarded border in the night, people whose only bollocks are the ones you get while standing the bad smell do not have the same bollocks of those who like crazy jump around and are _alive_,
Go, turn on you Axxx, load some nice Backdrop on your WB and be happy.
I for one welcome any good invention, be it AmigaOS, FooOS, BarOS or whatever. There is different sides in each world. |
