Today, I tracked over one hundred attempts of abuse on ANN. I've been working on the filters and editing mechanisms for over four hours. Maintaining ANN is turning into real work, and all I see are tasks that I despise. This one individual, and the general attitude on ANN lately, is alienating visitors and making this site a horrible place to be. Most of what I see is insults and blind advocacy... I'm tired... And I can just see the negative comments again, in reply to me posting this...

I would be very sad to see this site leave. I am not a computer geek. Just a guy
with an A3000 PicassoII and a o40. Over the years I have collected enough programs
to do everything I need to do. I live in a cabin in the backwoods of Ontario. I
take the machine to Toronto or Ottawa every few years to fix something or add
something. Myself I really don't know how to fix it or what new technologies are
available to me. I get that information from sites like this. I get the
contacts for repairs through sites like this.
The few programs I am missing are a few plugins for a browser. Java. Not too too
much though. The speed of my machine is equal to my baud rate, but maybe someday an
o60. I play games, send FAXes, type, make web pages, paint and design plus surf to 90%
of sites and e-mail. The machine is great.
My burning question is why don't these oh so smart assed hackers finish Daytona
or some of the other minor lackings of the machine. Far more gratifying work I
would think. Duh!
