Here is the official Motorola Press release.
More technical information was available in the What's New box, MPC7455 product on this page. The link is not working righ now. It was available a few minutes before. I guess the are doing changes

It all depends on the software that runs the hardware. If it is efficiently implemented than you don't have problems unless you are so desperate that a 15 mins gain off DVD-ripping is so crucial to you.
Anyway, G5 should be nice ... |
