Amiga Inc. April executive update : Comment 138 of 186 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Alex Klauke on 14-Apr-2002 09:08 GMT | In reply to Comment 129 (Tyon): It's one of two ways. First of all, MorphOS1.0 will be a commercial OS just as
AmigaOS4.0 and will most likely cost you 50, 70, 100 EUR/$ if you buy it
seperately, as stated several times by the MorphOS developers. So with the
Pegasos board, either these costs are included or they are not. In the former
case bPlan/a Amiga dealer could take a batch of Pegasos boards and license it
(cost free as Ben stated) as 'AmigaOS capable' and reducing it by the MorphOS,
adding the AmigaOS4.0 price sell it for approx. around 650 EUR incl. AmigaOS,
too. If its the latter case, it means bPlan does subvention MorphOS for release
with the Pegasos meaning some kind of protectionism (btw exactly what some
accuse AmigaInc. to do..).
Or, as I already asked on Amiga-News.de: Will I be able to get a Pegasos for
about 550-600 EUR _without_ _any_ OS and then choose the OS _I_ want (not what
bPlan wants, nor AmigaInc./Hyperion for that matter)?
Ciao, Alex |
