Amiga Inc. April executive update : Comment 143 of 186 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Ben Hermans/Hyperion on 14-Apr-2002 10:06 GMT | In reply to Comment 142 (Kronos): We're running in circles here.
It IS an open model.
A dealer or bPlan can submit for certification and ship hardware with OS 4 OEM to users interested in OS 4.
Can you get the hardware without OS 4? Yes.
Can a manufacturer or dealer get OS 4 support? Yes.
Nothing is closed off, except piracy (to some degree) and companies without the necessary support and after sales and repair service.
Your concerns are just based on the fact that you fear that bPlan won't bother to get certification because at the end of the day they are more interested in pushing their own software solution into the market than they are to sell boards to people who want OS 4.
If you are interested in getting a Pegasos and running OS 4 on it, communicate this to your dealer and bPlan.
If they have any economic sense, they will listen to you if there is enough of you out there. And if I can put any faith in polls, I'd say so.
If you are not interested in OS 4, then this discussion is pointless. |
