Say who ? I thought it was already said: We do want to support the Pegasos board. It's firmly planned. Unfortunately, we haven't received a developer board yet, but if we ever get one, OS4 will run on the Pegasos.

AmigaOS 4.0 on Pegasos : Comment 247 of 510 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Stefan Burström on 15-Apr-2002 20:05 GMT | In reply to Comment 236 (darklite): >I did not say decompilation is legal. The MorphOS team didn't need to do any >decompilation. If you think they did, prove it.
Writing an emulator usually forces you to spend endless nights stepping through
emulated code trying to figure out why stuff are not working as they expect.
And considering that MOS contains a nice m68k emulator, I am quite sure a few
people has spent their time going through various parts of the KS3.1 rom. If
that is not decompilation, I don't know that decompilation is.
Besides, anyone with some technical knowledge of AOS (which I doubt you have)
would testify in court that it is impossible to write a fully AOS compatible
OS based on the API's alone simply because AOS sometimes behave very different
from what the API docs say.
Weather this would be legal grounds or not is not my opinion.
>Why are you ignoring the fact that there's no decompilation involved?
Please! If you have facts, let the rest us know them! This is silly. I for once
asked Ben to state the facts why he would claim that MOS is done by recompiling
AOS. And guess what? He stoped stating that, at least when I discussed things
with him, simply because he couldn't prove them to me, and it was no point
for him trying to convince me that he was right where I obviously seemed to know
better. So, please state the facts now. Deal?
best regards,
Stefan |
