Say who ? I thought it was already said: We do want to support the Pegasos board. It's firmly planned. Unfortunately, we haven't received a developer board yet, but if we ever get one, OS4 will run on the Pegasos.

Writing an emulator usually forces you to spend endless nights stepping through
emulated code trying to figure out why stuff are not working as they expect.
And considering that MOS contains a nice m68k emulator, I am quite sure a few
people has spent their time going through various parts of the KS3.1 rom. If
that is not decompilation, I don't know that decompilation is.

Stepping threw *test-apps* and the *emulator*, yes.
This has nothing to do with decompiling AOS3.x.

Besides, anyone with some technical knowledge of AOS (which I doubt you have)
would testify in court that it is impossible to write a fully AOS compatible
OS based on the API's alone simply because AOS sometimes behave very different
from what the API docs say.

...API-inconsistencies that are *widely known*, documented
openly elsewhere etc.
how would you else do programs for it ? by decompiling
the kickstart ?? nope. in my years I have never been
forced to that :) |
