Say who ? I thought it was already said: We do want to support the Pegasos board. It's firmly planned. Unfortunately, we haven't received a developer board yet, but if we ever get one, OS4 will run on the Pegasos.

AmigaOS 4.0 on Pegasos : Comment 355 of 510 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Amifan on 16-Apr-2002 13:07 GMT | In reply to Comment 340 (Anders Kjeldsen): >"I'm not arguing with any lawyer since I don't know shit about legal issues or >laws....".. You no shit about other things too, but that doesn't stop you? :)
Oh brother......Let's start a Yes-no threath and then tell me that you're right because your dad's got a bigger car....
>"MorphOS is by no means "competitive"." What is it then? :)
Something not related to TheName (tm), ask its authors ;-)
No serious, it's a threath to the Pegasos, although bPLAN doesn't realise this yet.....
>Yes, you CAN smack my head against the wall. The question is: Would you?
Well.....nah....this one is just toooo easy....;-)
>If you did, then nothing would happen unless I went to the police or similar. >I think be both think that this "smack" would be morally wrong.
>I don't think Morphos is morally wrong. It might be legally wrong. But that >has not been decided.
Oh please......MorhpOS is soooo morally wrong since it uses the "fame" of the real AmigaOS to create a market. Actually, it wants to take the its place. Now that's what I call morally wrong.
>Hardware and OS you say. Fine. By trademark, maybe.
No not by trademark...or are you saying that a mercedes is actually a volkswagen, but hey, those trademarks.....
>The definition of an Amiga in 1992 was made by Commodore. Since then I think >the amiga-name and it's community has evolved.
What about mutated? ;-)
>We talk of amiga as something a little different from what we did in the early >90's. An Amiga today can be defined by so many things. I wouldn't call >Amithlon an amiga, but a PC running AmigaOS. I will call Pegasos for Pegasos, >Morphos for Morphos, AmigaOne for AmigaOne etc. But they will all belong/be->related to the amiga-community. I think it's unfair of something to try to >control the community.
"Community" I hate that word.....Who came up with that one anyway? Ghandy?
We are all Amiga users....Not some wicked group of potsmoking communists.
Back to the subject.....
AmigaInc controls the Amiga market.
Apple controls the apple market.
Microsoft controls the windows market.
Nothing wrong with that, as long as not someone wants to control the computer market if you know what I mean.
>I would call OS2/Warp for OS2/Warp because that's the name. If MSDOS had a >community I'm sure the OS2/Warp would be related to it :)
I'm sure that a bunch of OS2/Warp fanatics would like to call their OS the new MSDOS.
>If OS2/Warp had a broad community, I'm sure(?) it will still live on to some >point. The most people, Amiga isn't existing. Not to us.
Yes amiga...So what does MorphOS has to do with it again?
>Why would I say that I ran Linux on a Mac(computer) if I ran Linux on Amiga? >It might be just as little impressive.
Geezs......
>Morphos on Mac: Morphos on Mac. But it would still be an option for me, as a >member of the amiga community.
I wan't talking about option or something. I was talking about how you call it.....No matter what you run on a MAC, you call it a MAC. No matter what hardware you run Windows on, you call it a PC. Get it?
>By definition, what do you mean by a Morphos platform?
The same like the Amiga platform is nowadays, it's not about the hardware anymore, but about the software. So let me summarize this:
AmigaOS platform is AmigaOS running natively on hardware capable of it.
MorphOS platform is MorphOS running natively on hardware capable of it.
No matter if they are capable of running on the same hardware. It's "evolved" to be like windows....
So let the MorphOS "platform" stop pretending that are actually an amiga or part of the amiga platform because they are not. |
