Say who ? I thought it was already said: We do want to support the Pegasos board. It's firmly planned. Unfortunately, we haven't received a developer board yet, but if we ever get one, OS4 will run on the Pegasos.

AmigaOS 4.0 on Pegasos : Comment 357 of 510 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anders Kjeldsen on 16-Apr-2002 13:39 GMT | In reply to Comment 355 (Amifan): My dad has a bigger car? Whoo-hoo!
Morphos a threath to Pegasos. Gosh.. it's all so simple now.. how did you figure this out? Again, let's wait and see.
Norphos uses the "fame" of a 10 year old operative system concept? If Morphos supports AmigaOS (meaning, if it will run existing amiga software) then it will not create a new market. It will improve (can be discussed) the existing one. However, creating a new platform would create a new market.
"or are you saying that a mercedes is actually a volkswagen, but hey, those trademarks"..
No, I'm saying that I can hang out with people who own a Mercedes, even if I own a Porche :p And there's nothing Mercedes can do about it. Ford should sue it's first competitors because their cars could drive on the same roads (not even a valid example, I know)
AmigaInc controls their market? Well, I don't think they control me, as the consumer. One thing is to claim to have control, another thing is to actually CONTROL. I think it's right that they protect their name.
"Yes amiga...So what does MorphOS has to do with it again? "
What I meant was.. Amiga is more or less dead. From a common person's point of view.
"I wan't talking about option or something. I was talking about how you call it.....No matter what you run on a MAC, you call it a MAC. No matter what hardware you run Windows on, you call it a PC. Get it? "
Yes.. Think so.. I call a computer by its given name. I call an operative system by its given name. But both these two things can be related to a context, community or similar. And that's were I usually put "amiga" in. Well, I call my amigas (the computers) for Amiga, and the OS for AmigaOS, but that might change with e.g Pegasos.
Why care about what Morphos "pretends" to be? Why not take it for what it is(when it's released)
However, this leads nowhere. I'm sure we're both not 100% right. I just think it's a shame that people (like you) cannot appreciate what's being given to the community. |
