Say who ? I thought it was already said: We do want to support the Pegasos board. It's firmly planned. Unfortunately, we haven't received a developer board yet, but if we ever get one, OS4 will run on the Pegasos.

AmigaOS 4.0 on Pegasos : Comment 371 of 510 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Amiga user in waiting on 17-Apr-2002 03:37 GMT | In reply to Comment 369 (cheeseuser in waiting): And I am sure your company spend mid five figures researching this very topic too. Polling companies are bloody expensive, aren't they?
Our results were roughly :
68% Amiga // 4% Amiga Clone // 2% don't know // 27% what's an Amiga?
est m.o.e. +/- 3%
there were about a dozen questions, formulated by people who do that kind of thing, results interpolated...etc, etc.
(not at my office so I don't have the figures in front of me. Seems like there were 5,000 people polled or somesuch - 4,000 in the US and 1000 in Japan. The numbers may be wrong, but that is roughly the percentages)
I will say that we have a great deal of respect for Hyperion. When I first saw Heretic 2 running on an A4000, I was stunned. I didn't think it could be done. Some people (appearantly staunch Morphos advocates) comment that AmigaOS should be dismissed because Hyperion's coders are "game porters." That is laughable. Sure they port games, but the empressive part to us are their engines and 3d work.
I am on vacation and seldom post on forums. I am going golfing and to casinos tomorrow and may pop in for a few around lunch. I will leave it at this.
In order for Morphos to outsell AmigaOS, Amiga + Hyperion will have to release an absolute dog. Morphos' victory will not come by defeating Amiga, but rather by Amiga's failure. I am banking on that not happening.
Now I gotta get some sleep. Golf in the morning at the Dancing Rabit. Be there or be square! |
