I run a voodoo3 2000 PCI at 1600x1200, 24-32bit in my 1200. On a 21" standard monitor. And I never had any problem with the ide interface, in fact I run a 40GB Fujitsu off of it.
It's too easy to just blame everything on H&P or something, you know.
