REBOL nominated for Webby in technical achievement : Comment 12 of 16 | ANN.lu |
Posted by pekr on 12-May-2002 10:41 GMT | In reply to Comment 11 (3seas): No Tim, its just some 49USD pro /Pro version. We are still pushing RT to free library and shell components though. They know they have to go that way imo, it's just all about timings ...
I can't agree with such simple marking of Rebol to spam generators. Why are you confusing ppl here? Web related job automation would be better description, don't you think? :-)
And after all - it was REBOL IOS product, which was nominated. It is very nice product, built upon Rebol technology. It can be seen as slight competition to Lotus Notes or maybe better to Groove. To be exact, something as Groove is really not a competition to IOS, as I can see IOS superior to it in many respects.
And to be honest, I also think Rebol technology is better than what AmigaDE claims to be, but is not (yet). We don't need ACM in VP or something like that, as in Rebol, everything can be everything. AmigaDE however, will be much stronger/faster in multimedia, and both comapnies have slightly different focus ... but one day - who knows?
As for Webby awards itself - it is clear that Google will win people's voice in Tech achievement category. I have not posted the news because I wanted amigans to vote, but because I just thought some of us are still interested in knowing, what old amiga legends are up to ...
Cheers,
