i noticed a new video on aminet:
http://www.aminet.net/pix/mpg/Pegasos.mpg
"This is a demo video of bPlan's Pegasos computer. The video has been created by Thendic-France to give an impression of how the machine runs."
the download is still in progress, but i'm sure it will finish to convince all amiga users thats the ppc amiga they are waiting since years is finally arrived

the next ppc amiga : Comment 108 of 359 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Denis Troller on 19-May-2002 18:50 GMT | In reply to Comment 4 (DaveW): *You ARE trolling because
*1. Pegasos is not an Amiga branded product ergo it is not an Amiga.
*2. Pegasos is NOT on general sale to the public therefore it is not the *current existing PPC solution.
*3. Pegasos does currently have no roadmap which includes AmigaOS.
*4. If we take existing to mean existing PPC hardware that may or may not ever *run AmigaOS ( which includes Pegasos ) then the RS6000 quad processor box
*sitting under my desk is an Amiga.
[ DISCLAIMER : I AM NOT A MORPHOS FAN, NEITHER AM I AN AMIGAONE FAN.
I just do as a majority : wait and see ]
Is he ?
I think talking about Pegasos as the next ppc Amiga is no more trolling than endlessly arguing over the fact that it cannot be.
I don't know if this person wanted to start a war using this subject, but I am ready to believe he did it in good faith.
People seem to think everyone talking about Pegasos is an anti Amiga ante vice versa. Can't we even see a simple news without feeling attacked ?
What is killing us (not Amigans in general, I must say) is that people always talk before they think, and that they never try to understand the people they are talking to.
You argue over a simple choice of words (and you must agree that you RS6000 can't run Amiga applications at all, whereas Morphos is supposed to be able to do that. In that way, the pegasos can be said to be a ppc amiga).
Please understand that people do not always try to start flame wars. Sometimes they just think they have a piece of news, and they post it, period.
I am not saying you are stupid or anything in particular. I just picked your post because it was here, saying "you are trolling because", before ever commenting the real content. In a way, I think you are trolling just like you say he is, and I'm sure it was'nt your goal.
Sorry for that, but although sorry for all of us who think arguing over every little rumor or post is usefull.
Amiga community needs people DOING things, not running around, filling the news sites with useless post like what we have seen recently here. |
