"This is a demo video of bPlan's Pegasos computer. The video has been created by Thendic-France to give an impression of how the machine runs."

the next ppc amiga : Comment 120 of 359 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Graham on 19-May-2002 19:11 GMT | In reply to Comment 114 (David Scheibler): It isn't a bug actually, it is fully within the PCI spec, it is just that certain PCI cards operate just outside the spec, and most chipsets handle this just fine, but the 686B can have a tizzy when you have 2 hard drives copying data to each other whilst you are using a soundblaster live!
These issues were not fixed in the 8231. They have been fixed in the 8235 with an entirely new PCI implementation that is more robust and up to date.
Some people managed to recreate the bug on non VIA chipsets as well, when using the Live!, and most people point the finger at creative for causing the problem, whilst blaming VIA for not having a robust enough PCI implementation to deal with it.
So the real problem is that the Live! used the Emu10K chip as supported by AmigaOS4...
