No, I actually believe I haven't gotten it the wrong way around. Pegasos is not publicly available yet, where as the developer release of AmigaOne was made public. When Pegasos is available to the extent that the AmigaOne board is (or is claimed to be, I've yet to hear anyone receive theirs) Hyperion are just as able to purchase theirs, now are they not?
As far as I've heard, there are only a few Pegasos boards in existence and those are being circulated amongst MorphOS developers. I haven't confirmed that, but it would make sense if you were to concentrate on your own OS. I don't see Alan Redhouse rushing their first AmigaOne prototype to the MorphOS team either. ;-) And I wouldn't expect him to.
This could simply be a matter of priority: MorphOS developers are more imporant to bPlan than the makers of AmigaOS, and when there are only a limited number of boards available that priority comes into play. That call is certainly well within their rights to make and sounds to me as very reasonable.
Hey, as far as we know, Hyperion do not have an AmigaOne either. Or haven't until very lately (I have no information one way or the other), but I still wouldn't claim Eyetech is witholding one from them. :-) |
