the next ppc amiga : Comment 202 of 359 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Kay Are Ulvestad on 20-May-2002 07:03 GMT | Hmm...well I downloaded the video. The production quality wasn't the best I've seen
(in fact, I believe I've filmed better stuff myself), but it was ever so slightly
interesting. Should AmigaOS4.0 fail, I MIGHT, and I stress the "MIGHT"-part, consider
a Pegasos/MOS solution. Unfortunately, I have severe doubt as to the future of MOS. It
seems that currently, it has managed to capture a very small part of the Amiga
community, something I doubt to be sufficient to maintain commercial software support.
And as long as Pegasos doesn't run any other OS, it will die if/when MOS does. Too bad.
But, in the unlikely scenario of MOS being a massive success, and AOS failing completely,
I'd might consider it.
The software demonstration part of the video was waaay too short, BTW. Liked the backdrop,
though. Anyone know where I can get it? (And don't say I have to buy a Pegasos:-))
Oh, and to the guy saying that the Pegasos is like a Bplan Amiga, while the AmigaOne is
an Amiga Amiga, referring to the IBM PC versus any PC (comment 112): You're wrong. The point
is that "Amiga" is a registered trademark, while "PC" is a mere abbreviation for "Personal
Computer".
