i noticed a new video on aminet:
http://www.aminet.net/pix/mpg/Pegasos.mpg
"This is a demo video of bPlan's Pegasos computer. The video has been created by Thendic-France to give an impression of how the machine runs."
the download is still in progress, but i'm sure it will finish to convince all amiga users thats the ppc amiga they are waiting since years is finally arrived

Nobody got to touch it, right? In fact, I don't recall - correct me if I'm wrong - anybody ever posting anywhere that they've had some hands-on time with a Pegasos.

I'd say just the opposite. For publicity purposes it would have been better not to do this video at all. Quality requirements do NOT differ according to where you film a demo. I attack it because it was badly made, told us nothing and showed us nothing we haven't seen before.
>I'd love to see such a video of AmigaOne. No such luck yet, hopefully soon.
I would hate to see such a video of AOS on an AmigaONe. I'd want to see several apps running, I'd want to be able to see the screen, not the refresh band, I'd want to have some explanation of what I'm seeing. I don't want "This is my computer, these are the connectors, this is the mouse/keyboard/screen/power supply that I'm plugging in, this is the open firmware boot screen" taking up 2 minutes of my time, followed by "this is the OS didn't it load quickly [yeah, right], quick look at a menu, look at me opening a file, OK that's your lot."
Wham, bam, thank you ma'am. Pathetic. This mobo has got potential, but they're not doing themselves any favours here. |
