As a U.S. citizen, I am fascinated by the international intrigue and the writing of English by those for whom it is not the native tongue. It seems like the Amiga Community is set to refight W.W.II. Britain versus Germany. Although W.W.II wasn't as long as this string. I hope the combatants don't kill the Amiga in the courts. I met Petro in Ohio. He was a genuinely nice individual who for me lends credibility to Bplan/Morphos.
What will either the Pegasos or Bplan motherboard cost in the U.S.? PPC accelerators were ridiculously expensive and thus less obtainable here, even today.
It seems that my fascination with the Amiga has less and less to do with practicality. Some people like antique automobiles. I apparently like antique computers. I liked the way Amiga music programs were intuitive and easy to create with. In the past ancient history Commodore would introduce a high end Box like the A2000, A4000 and then the cheaper alternative A500, A1200. In the U.S., we have have preferred the big box Amigas.
The truth is that Amiga Inc. needs Bplan. In my humble opinion they simply do not have sophisticated enough hardware in the Amiga One to attract buyers in the U.S. market at anything like the price penalty that importation will place on the boards. With my large investment in PC hardware for my Music studio, I would like to see AOS operating on this fast modern hardware. Windows cripples this fantastic hardware but the new amiga Os whether Morph or Os4 will be stillborn on substandard hardware. Does anybody in the world have a midi and digital audio solution for Amithlon/OSxl. Since Amiga is now Bill Gates friend how about some support.
In the final analysis the Pegasos and AmigaOne will have to equal or exceed PC hardware to impress multimedia uses and be reasonably affordable in the U.S. to get many sales here.
P.S. We need better audio support |
