Next Pegasos production sold out : Comment 172 of 280 | ANN.lu |

Bill didn't actually write that Thendic sent any sourcecodes. However,
there's no use arguing about the eventual differences between "sources" and
"source code".
Ben also didn't say (at least not in this thread) that they asked for any
sourcecodes. He said they didn't get any sourcecode, "only" register
descriptions. Frankly I don't see why they would need sourcecode, after all
they are writing their own OS aren't they, not copying someone else?
In fact, Ben should probably be very happy that they didn't get any
sources, because if they had seen them, they would of course have been
automatically banned from writing any related OS due to copyright
legalities. Or something ;)
Seriously though, "register information" sounds much more like the kind of
information Hyperion would need to code an OS than "sources". Of course, if
the information was inaccurate, as Ben claims, they might have been better
off trying to reverse engineer the sources, but I suspect it would have
been easier simply pointing this out and asking for a correction. |
