Because of very heavy lightning i Aalborg, Denmark the entire sunsite.dk machine is down. This afternoon there came a rainstorm over the northern parts of Denmark. Because of that, the entire sunsite.dk site went down. That means that the mailindlists and the webpage are down for the time beeing.

Unfortunately the UPS did not do it's job and the PSU in the server blew out. Sun has been contacted and they will bring a replacement PSU later this week (in a few days or so).

If you'd like to see how and where the lightning struck between 15:00 and 18:00 you can take a look at this picture from the Danish Meteorological Institute..

On behaf of the entire AWeb team,
Jens Dueholm Christensen <jens@amigadk.dk>

In reply to Comment 3 (Peter Eriksson):
Well tornados in europe are not so rare as people think. There is almost every summer some small or medium tornados in Finland. Those just usually happen in the areas where there is no much people or settlemts. By the way in many european countries tornados are actually called as trombi. Trombi is an local european tornado. According to Finnish weather agency there was 19 confirmed trombis in 1997 and about 10 trombis / year after that. Probably there was some more of those which were not seen. Eg. in 1999 there was a thunderstorm and a small trombi in center of city of Mikkeli it lifted a car in the air, rotated it and smahed it back to ground upside down. Couple of years ago there was also a trombi almost in the capital of Finland which is called Helsinki. I live there but didn't see it. There was a photo in newspaper though. So Tornados or trombis are rare in Europe, but they are not so rare as people think. Those just usually happen in the areas where there is no much people.
