Support Bernie! : Comment 7 of 24 | ANN.lu |
Posted by 3seas on 06-Jul-2002 13:24 GMT | I thinks its to help Bernie not feel the sting of the IP Bitchslap so badly.
Yes Bernie still has some part of his face still hanging on.
But it should be noted that Bernie is not the only one who has had to deal with
the IP Bitchslap and I have no doubt some of the other had lost alot more than
their face or girlfriend.
And then there are those trying to avoid the IP Bitchslap who also have put alot
of work into what they are doing to perhaps release us all from the IP BitchSlap
threat. And there is only one effort to do this. Other effort still have an
IP BitchSlap leash or string attached. Efforts like UAE (GPL) and Amithlon
(proprietary) and AmigaXL (probably some combination???) have IP leashes attached.
And as such the choke chain can be pulled at anytime.
There is AROS, the effort to avoid the IP bitchslap altogether. And this can certainly
help everyone, even those swinging the IP bitchslap arm/hand to get away from that curse
of "Amiga IP". Lets' face it, Amiga inc is not the developers of AmigaOS but if anything
they are the developers of AmigaDE, Amiverse, Amiga Component Model, and you might even
say SHEEP (but if it such a good language then why limit it to one platform???)
Anyways, Amiga inc, has there own projects, they are not the developers of AmigaOS and as
such is so damn IP BitchSlapable, why even use it as there is an better route, even if it
means taking a few steps back away from the reach ofthe bitchslapping arm.
Then again, it seems really clear that there are those who really do love domination and
submission roles, probably even love to be IP bitchslaped or to IP bitchSlap someone else.
Anyone what to guess at the count? |
