BETA version of SDL 1.2.4 for AmigaOS 68k and MorphOS is available as SHARED or linked library t my SDL support page, it now should works correctly also with Picasso96 16/24bit modes:
SDL Amiga support page
This version is beta, I'm waiting for positive responses to make it official and put it in Aminet and in libsdl.org website.
SAS/C 68k and WarpOS link lib and will follow in the final version, anyway, since the SDL LGPL licence, the shared library is the way to go if you want to develop closed source apps.

SDL 1.2.4 beta : Comment 2 of 2 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Gabriele Greco on 18-Jul-2002 05:53 GMT | In reply to Comment 1 (MasterOfReality): The code is opensource, a WarpOS VERSION, not a simple compile, of 1.2.3 already exists, altrough is not that useful due to context switches. SDL is internally optimized to mimimize context switches, but applications should use a lot of care using as few SDL calls as possibile and this is not the case of the opensource apps that can be found on the net.
BTW the main problem of Amiga community at the moment is not OS4 vs MorphOS vs Amithlon, ecc, ecc. The problem is that there are almost no more developers left... Just look at <a href="http://www.libsdl.org>libsdl.org</a> (or think about the quality of Aminet uploads 5/10 years ago) to see what an ACTIVE developer community can do... |
