Sendo device to feature Amiga Anywhere content : Comment 46 of 50 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 31-Jul-2002 13:19 GMT | In reply to Comment 43 (Ole-Egil): Amiga Inc. have been securing deals for their DE product for ages. Tao lands the original deal, then the host's engineers figure out that Tao use a lot of sleight of hand in their marketing to suggest things which aren't exactly true. They demand answers, and Tao says something like "Oh, all those elements that you wanted but didn't specify and which are admittedly not actually present in the product you decided to buy, can be obtained from our partner company, Amiga" and so you get a new lot of PR. After the engineers examine this new product they conclude that snake oil, mixed with more snake oil, is still snake oil, and the product ships without Intent OR AmigaDE
In the cases where a company is sensible enough to let engineers check out the "product" before they issue any PR, Bill and Gary are left saying stuff like "We are talking to a big company, but we can't name them" and then a month later they can't even remember who they talked to, or what about. All forgotten.
Look at the Sendo announcement. Aren't the things promised eerily similar to those promised for existing WinCE platforms, back in March, for delivery in April ? Yeah, yeah, "We were let down. It's so frustrating". Whatever Bill, tell it to your parents, not your customers. |
