I agree. If the sources compile without modification, just frigging say so in a readme. And for heavens sakes make the upstream maintainers know about it, maybe they like their software actually being circulated ;-)
If it didn't compile without modification, then logic dictates a bit more than that readme should be distributed ;-)
But by all means, don't listen to me. Just don't complain to me if someone else starts yelling about it. I only warned :-) |
