Project Petunia (AmigaOS4 JIT emulator) pages updated and extended with a FAQ.
Project Petunia pages (the emulator, that will be used in AmigaOS4) updated and extended with a FAQ.
After a long period of checking forums, chatboards and answering e-mails I decided to add a FAQ part into the project page. I hope I can clean up all the important questions arising in you. If something is not clear enough feel free to write a mail.

Project Petunia FAQ : Comment 57 of 68 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Kjetil on 22-Aug-2002 09:12 GMT | As you may know FPU, floating point unit, this is the math processor, used by Amiga, the not so old 680xx CPU’s, the old 680xx cpu’s do not have the FPU, butt on even old Amiga Like the A500 there where options to add FPU, on system friendly programs the FPU instructions are only used with in math.library so the program is self could run on Amiga with or with out.
Demos, Games that do not run in multitasking mode never use math.library and there fore can will be broken if FPU is not emulated.
Setpatch enables patching of unknown instructions to allow them be executed true emulation.
68060 do not have all the 68040 instructions however it uses this way of handling it. |
