SCSI for your AmigaONE ?? : Comment 52 of 71ANN.lu

In reply to Comment 49 (JoannaK):
Actually Joanna I get the not-so-subtle impression that Ben is the money. Either directly spending his savings to set an example (like JWZ's purchase of the DNA lounge); or by having the contacts to bring in Amiga friendly investment and keep the investors happy.
Think about it: licensing a game for porting to Amiga is expensive; porting the games means hiring a bunch of people and paying them, maybe buying premises and hardware too (though some Hyperion employees work at home and with their own machines). The development of OS4 at Hyperion has required many contracts to be signed with external developers (who presumably want more than fame out of it) and has used all of Hyperion's own time and resources for 10 months with no end in sight.
This has cost hundreds of thousands of euros, probably millions by now. It can't be profitable (be honest, how many people do you think bought a Hyperion product from their Amiga dealer last year?). So, whatever I might think of his antics on ANN and his management skills I must say that if Ben goes that probably means end of Hyperion, and of AmigaOS. Personally that would be fine by me, but that's not the popular view around here.
