Interested in having SCSI PCI on your AmigaONE system?
Click to find out more!
I am preparing to code a driver for a PCI SCSI card, that will run under OS4 and be optimised for the AmigaONE. I am taking submissions on which card I should code for.

SCSI for your AmigaONE ?? : Comment 55 of 71 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Chip on 23-Aug-2002 05:26 GMT | Guys!
I was talkin' about a HighEnd verison of A1 would be nice. Expensive, but kicks ass! Just like A4000 against A1200. Clear?
Using SCSI devices is more expensive but on PC unusable, because of the shit SCSI cards/drivers! They are just connectors(!) and not controllers! If you don't feel the difference, i can sorry you. It is really nice, that nowdays i haven't got any problems with my SCSI devices in my old hardware.
Those people who afraid about the upgrading: SCSI is upward compatible also. What am i mean? I can use an UW-SCSI Harddisk on an old FAST-SCSI2 controller and backwards also!
The advantages for an on board SCSI controller are: Spare PCI slots, the developers can focus only one driver!
Don't forget: I were talking about a HIGHEND version of A1, not the lowend cheap one.
Cheers
