Morphos claims to be ready for legal action : Comment 56 of 155ANN.lu

I see that a lot of people are missing the point completely on the AOS4 vs MOS issue.
Most of them maybe ignore that Amiga Inc approached to Mos people to use Mos as the new AmigaOS, The people at Mos said no due to the crazy conditions that Ainc tried to bind them, and to point something funny Amiga Inc even refused to spend any money to print the boxes of the finished product. So a good question is why Ainc considered using Mos in the beginning if it is so bad???
Second thing is the legal status of the thing, It is true that the "first Mos" needed an original copy of "Classic AmigaOS" to run 68k apps, but this is not true anymore, the nearly to be finish release doesn’t need it anymore. All the needed libraries and files have been recreated from scratch using Mos and Aros code (AFAIK). Mos was nearly finished in January 2002 using "Classic AmigaOS" but over 8 months they changed it completely.
Third issue is how good is each one against the other, first of all, consider what "based" means for both, it means the same like WinNT5.1 aka XP to Windows 3.1, XP provides compatibility for old 16bits apps, but nothing else, and the extra apis and code in XP doesn't benefit at all the old Win3.1 apps, they “just run” that's all. The same will happen with Classic Aos apps, they "Just will run”. So don't base any Os comparison between Mos and Aos4 in the "based on Classic Os fact" this is simply not true, Mos is a new os with a compatibility layer for Classic Aos Apps, like AmigaOs 4 will be despite all the bullshit people is saying (including its authors).
The fact is that we don’t have any of those new OS to test, benchmark and do whatever we like to finally say: “This is the winner”, so until their authors release them we must shout and wait to see the final product, all of us including Ainc, Mos, Bplan, Thendic, Bill Buck, etc...
We must be realistic I can wish that Hyperion makes AmigaOS 4 better than Morphos, but this is just “a wish”, not what necessarily what can happen, and the same to Morphos followers as well, what their developers say is not a guarantee of success, If we believe to the authors of WindowsXP then XP is the best operating system ever, isn’t it? And we all know it is not true, just because MS released XP nearly a year ago…
