"Today AmIDE was announced as GPL and is available for all interested amiga developers to join the team and make AmIDE a powerful integrated development environment for Amiga computers. AmIDE - Amiga Integrated Development Environment is a modern MUI based IDE system that should make the Amiga developer able to use his favourite Compiler system with a modern looking GUI System with features like filetype handling, Build/Make, TextEditor" The project can be found here.

Besides, shall we start listing all the proprietary Amiga software which has disappeared for ever?
It's alright saying that a commercial company can do a better job than the open-source programmers, but a commercial company won't even touch a program if they don't think there a good chance of making some money out of it, and the Amiga commercial market is not terribly healthy right now (nor is it really likely to improve much, even when the new operating systems are released).
