OS4 Demo : Comment 35 of 42 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Cheney on 06-Sep-2002 16:30 GMT | In reply to Comment 30 (Alkemyst): If the super-bowl champs played against the
worldcup champs in "round" football, they
would no doubt lose badly, but if they gave
the world-cup champs the full "body armour",
and played the "oval" football, you would have
to have dozens of ambulences waiting to take
the broken remains to the hospitals, if not
the morgue...American football requires
strength, agility, speed, and attention to minute
detail, with voluminous play-books, sets, and
timing sequences.
The body armour is only there to
prevent death and maiming, not to prevent injury.
Ever been in a locker room after a game and
witnessesd the medical staff on hand go into
action?
Roundball soccer is great as it stands, but
don't think for a moment the average pro player
could last a quarter between the goalposts
against 300 pound linemen who can catch them
from behind and pound them into the turf...
Tearing, dislocation, and breakage, anyone? |
