To address the last first, people get tired of your negative tone,
with "HYPErion" and "Amino" and so on. I am not setting out to
criticize you as I think we agree on a lot of things, but I think
we should attempt to elevate the tone in our public remarks. This
doesn't mean we should not criticize executive update rubbish like
the famous "On Schedule and Rockin'" headline from last year when
development on A1 had been frozen, and H&P was dumping OS 4.0. It
only means that nyaah nyaah stuff simply meant to annoy people
should be avoided.
Now as to your comment about PPC being a bad choice, I disagree w.
that. It is a more modern basis than the X86 architecture, no
matter how much X86 is juiced up. Outside of that it represents a
real diversity. It is something different. If you really think that
Intel or AMD X86 descendant are so hot, then you should enjoy that
Inc. is now announcing their "exciting, amazing" plans for the
X86-based emulator Bernie Meyer is working on. Why they weren't
doing this a year ago instead of asking for expressions of interest
now in September, 2002 I don't know. Because they have no direction
and are lost in their spider's web of deceptive marketing I guess.
I was going to explain (contrary to your opinion) why I think
Thendic-France has the right idea with the PPC machine and the
software and accessory hardware they are running with, but this
article is sort of long already, so I will stick that in my pocket
for another day. |
